He should have his two eyes , all members, and his walk
Seine Augen werden ihm gehören und alle seine Glieder , seine Schritte werden nicht fehlgehen ,

so daß die Leute über ihn sagen :

be is like Re on the day of his birth -
"Er ist wie Re an dem Tag , da er geboren wurde ! - "

he should not be a child of his possessions nor an accursed one at his doorsteps .
in Besitz kann nicht gering werden , sein Torweg nicht versperrt sein .

This is exceedingly good , a million times (so) !

The Watery Abyss was embraced by the Eldest God himself ,
Nun wurde umarmt vom Ältesten (Gott) selber ,

who said to the gods who came out (with him) of the Western Sky :
und er sprach zu den Göttern , die aus dem Osten des Himmels hervorgingen :

Let praises be given to the Eldest God ! As I came into being through him ,
"Gebt Lobpreis dem Ältesten Gott , durch den ich entstanden bin !

I who created the sky , who established (earth) to let the souls of the gods reside in it .
Ich bin es , der den Himmel geschaffen und [ihn] befestigt , um die Ba's der Götter in ihn hineinzusetzen .

I will be together with them in all eternity . The years are born

While the souls of every god , of every goddess are in the snakes ,

while the soul of Re is all over the earth .

If a man pronounces (this spell) , he should make a magical protection , (saying) :
Ein Mensch soll sprechen , damit er seinen Schutz durch Zauber bewirkt :

I am this Pure Magic which is in the mouth , and in the body of Re .
"Ich bin jener reine Zauber , der im Mund und im Leib des Re ist .

O gods , you who are far from me ,
Ihr Götter , haltet euch fern Von mir ,

I am Re the Luminous One !
(denn) ich bin Re, der Leuchtende

Thou shouldst say

when thou comest out at night , and darkness is over thee :

A magician , his head being purified ,
(Du) Zauberer , der rein ist auf seinem Haupt -

He should represent on her a goddess and in the middle of her
und forme eine Göttin auf ihr , in ihrer Mitte ,

a snake standing erect on its tail ,
(dazu) einen Schlangengott , der auf seinem Schwanz steht ,

her hand being placed on its body
so daß ihre Hand auf seinem Leib ist ,

while its tail is on the ground .
sein Schwanz (aber) auf der Erde .

Thoth should adore him (the magician) ,
Thot wird ihm verleiben ,

all the dignity of heaven being on him
daß Lobpreis und Ehre des Himmels auf ihm sind ,

while Shu stretches his arms toward it . (He should recite: )
und Schu streckt ihm seine Arme entgegen ,

I am safe from these grant and mighty gods ,
an daß ich gerettet bin vor jenen beiden alten und großen Göttern ,

who sit in the eastern part of heaven ,
die im Osten des Himmels wohnen ,

who guard the sky, who guard the earth, the mysterious functionaries .
welche den Himmel hüten und die Erde hüten, mit dauerhaften Geheimnissen .

Then, they shall say : Great is he who comes out to see the Watery Abyss .
Dann werden sie sagen : "Wie groß ist er , wenn er hervorgeht , um den Nun zu schauen '." .

Words to be spoken by a priest on the first and on the fifteenth of the month , and on every day
Ein Priester (soll es) rezitieren am 1. und 15. Monatstag ,

likewise (?). These forms are primeval (?) .
gemäß dieser urzeitlichen Vorschrift .

He who pronounces this spell shall live in the Necropolis ,
Wer diesen Spruch rezitiert , der bleibt lebendig im Totenreich ,

fear before him shall be greater than before those who are on earth .
und größer ist die Ehrfurcht vor ihm als vor denen auf Erden .

If they pronounce these thy names
Wenn sie also deine Namen aussprechen -

Eternity and Everlastingness ,
"Zeit und Ewigkeit" -

let them say: God .
dann sollen sie sagen: "Ein Gott [ist er, wahrhaftig] ! " ;
