Situation of Abydos

Some explanations :

  1. In Center the temple of Sethy which has a surrounding wall , peharps store rooms like in the Ramesseum in West-Thebes ; perhaps also a palace and finally in the West part , toward the sunset the Osireion .
  2. In the North are situated the little shrine of Ramses Ist, to day disapeared and the bas reliefs which have been dispersed in some museum of the world .
  3. In west part, in direction to the wadi which permit to access to the Netherworld we finf the site of Wm el Kaab, site which is under excavation of a germans team (Günter Dreyer) and which permei to establish that hieroglyphic writting began 3200 B.C.
