THE TEMPLE OF ABYDOS

FIRST COURT

This first court is form almost squared , with in South West a partly destroyed portico . It concerns a work of Ramses II . To the north is situated a Pylon , largely destroyed . To the center , symmetrically had as compared to the axis of the Temple , two ritual wells . Decorations dated from Ramses II are largely devoted to Syrian wars . Some inscriptions of Merenptah , the grand son of < b >Sethy Ist appear .

To the south , we can find a door entry decorated by celebrated scene as in Egyptian iconography : the coumt of hands on the battlefields . This door led , as we can see , in Ramesseum or in Médinet-Habou the Ramses III's complex , to a palace recently carved .
